Is This Deadly Toxin Worse Than Smoking?

You may remember a time when people didn’t think twice about lighting up a cigarette. In fact, some people (doctors included) even touted smoking cigarettes as being good for you! Nowadays, of course, everybody knows that smoking is one of the worst things you can do for your health.

What if I told you that there is another menace to your health that is just as deceptive and dangerous… and has even been labeled by some experts as the “deadliest toxin on the planet”?

Worse still, you may be surrounded by this toxin all of the time (even when you’re sleeping) and not even know it!

This invisible threat that’s raising your and your family’s risk of cancer is known as “EMF exposure”. It comes from many sources, but primarily from all the electrical gadgets and devices we use to make our lives easier, and the electricity that’s used to power them. 

Be sure to read on to gain critical knowledge into the most common sources of EMFs and, even more importantly, the solutions that will help you stay safe and cancer free in our increasingly “wired and wireless” world.

What Is EMF and Where Does it Come From?

“EMF” stands for “Electric and Magnetic Fields” (sometimes referred to as “electromagnetic fields”). They are “areas of energy” and forms of radiation that cannot be seen with the naked eye1.

There are naturally occurring EMFs emitted by the earth itself that are harmless and even healing to the body. On the other end of the spectrum is ionizing radiation, such as what comes from x-ray machines and nuclear power plants. 

This ionizing type of radiation has been shown to cause severe cellular damage and genetic mutation2.

In the middle of this spectrum are all the devices, appliances, and electronic gadgets that we use in our day-to-day life. They all have a frequency range attached to them which is usually measured as “EMF” or “RF” (radio frequency).

Some common devices and sources that contain an EMF/RF reading include:

  • Cellphones
  • Wireless routers
  • Electrical outlets and wires
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Computers
  • Kitchen appliances, including microwaves
  • Bath appliances such as blow dryers
  • Bedroom appliances like alarm clocks
  • Power tools
  • Artificial lighting
  • Electrical transformers (sources of Extremely Low Frequency Radiation, or ELFs)3
  • Cellphone towers, including 5G towers
  • SMART meters
  • Radios and radars
  • Satellites
  • Entire Smart Homes, cars, office buildings, and cities4 

Most official organizations (and definitely the corporate interests that manufacture and maintain these technologies) state that the EMF frequencies emitted by these devices are completely safe. 

Evidence-based research conducted over the last half a century, however, shows that this is simply not true.5

Research has shown for years that EMFs can cause damage to human health in multiple ways.

The World Health Organization (WHO) conducted a study in 2005 which found that “electromagnetic hypersensitivity” affected 5% of the world population. Fast-forward to 2019. A UK study reported that roughly 18% of that country’s population suffer from the condition known as “Idiopathic Environmental Intolerance Attributed to Electromagnetic Fields” to the point where people are unable to work a regular job6.

And things are only going to get worse. According to Statista.com, by 2025 close to 60% of all families will be living in “Smart Homes,” the majority of which will use the 5G network almost exclusively.7,8

Symptoms of EMF Overexposure

What exactly does exposure to EMF radiation do to the body? What’s more, how do you know if you may be exposing yourself or your family too much?

According to a Swiss study, some of the most common immediate complaints related to cellphone tower and powerline proximity as well as cellphone use were sleep disorders, headaches, anxiety, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating9.

Additional signs & symptoms you may experience from EMF overload include:

  • Dizziness / vertigo
  • Night sweats
  • Hair loss
  • Nose bleeds
  • Digestive issues
  • Tinnitus
  • Heart arrhythmias and tachycardia
  • Mood disorders (anxiety / depression)
  • Hyperactivity (ADD, ADHD) in both children and adults10
  • Skin disorders, such as rashes & dry skin
  • Nausea / GI issues
  • Lower immunity / increased rate of infection, flus & colds
  • Chronic fatigue11
  • Endocrine system imbalance in both men and women
  • Reproductive challenges and low fertility in both men & women12
  • Neurodegenerative disease, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s & memory loss13,14
  • Nervous system disorders
  • Higher risk of diabetes15
  • Higher risk of cancer

Your Cellphone Is One of the Biggest Offenders

While all sources of RF/EMF pose some threat, cellphone use is of particular concern because of its proximity to the human body.

The power unit and transmitter in a typical cellphone is usually located in the handset. Dangerous radiation can emanate from the keypad, screen, earpiece, and the aerial port when the phone is turned on.

While your brain is most at risk from cellphone use when holding it next to your ear, RF/EMF exposure has also been shown to affect the heart, heart rate, and the circulatory system in general. 

The Cancer Risk of “Dirty Electricity”

Even if you’re part of the minority these days without a cell phone, another modern source of EMF exposure which we’re almost all exposed to comes from wired technology.

This includes electrical lines, internal building (office, home) wiring systems, and region-wide and community electrical lines and transformers. These units can produce what’s known as “dirty electricity.”

Dirty electricity describes a situation of electrical current “leakage” where the electric current does not stay inside the wire. It’s estimated that close to two-thirds of all homes have dirty electricity due to issues with old, exposed, and outdated wiring.

The health impact of dirty electricity is similar to that of wireless exposure and include cellular damage, free radicals and oxidative stress, DNA mutations, and higher levels of chronic disease – including cancer.

As far back as 1982, the New England Journal of Medicine published a report from the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services noting that “among men whose occupations required them to work in electrical or magnetic fields there were more deaths due to leukemia than would be expected.”16 

More recently, a 2016 investigation conducted by University of California Los Angeles researchers connected high rates of childhood leukemia as well as nervous system cancers to proximity to electrical lines that contained frequencies over 200 kV.17 

Children in general are usually the ones who suffer most when it comes to EMF threats as their developing brains and bodies are more vulnerable to these frequencies. Compounding this risk is the fact younger and younger children are being given cellphones and using tablets and laptops for school and play nowadays. 

To make matters even worse… the dozens of studies into the damage to human health caused by EMF/RF has largely been based on data relating to older 2G or 3G devices which were far less powerful than newer technology. 

While 4G operates at around 1 to 2 Gigahertz, 5G technology operates on very high frequency bands of 20, 60, and sometimes even 80 gigahertz. This means that, at minimum, 5G is 20 times more powerful than even 4G!

What Can You Do to Protect Yourself & Your Family?

All this information concerning EMF health effects does seem rather grim – especially when we have no control over technology infrastructure around us such as cell phone towers and communication satellites. 

The good news is that there are many things you can do to protect yourself and lower your cancer risk in the face of EMFs.

Here are 5 action steps you can take starting now:

  1. Put distance between you and your cellphone and SMART meters.

    Don’t store your phone in a pocket or bra when it is on and try to use the speaker or “blue tube” headphones (not Bluetooth®) whenever possible to keep yourself as distanced from your phone as possible.

    Staying just one foot away from your cellphone can reduce EMFs by 80%, according to experts.

    Regarding SMART meters (which give off more radiation that traditional electrical meters), make sure that your bed or office space is not directly on the other side of the wall from the SMART meter. You can also take action to have the SMART meter removed from your home.

  2. Turn off your router when you sleep.

    Shut off your computer, your Wi-Fi router, and all blue light-emitting devices at least an hour before you go to bed. These actions alone may significantly help you sleep better at night.

  3. Turn off the breaker to your room at night.

    This action builds on #2.

    Research shows how important it is to get high-quality deep sleep at night for helping the body heal from cancer and other disease. By turning off the breaker to your room at night while you sleep, you can mitigate your exposure to any potential “dirty” electricity and allow your body a better chance of benefiting from restorative sleep.

  4. Take scheduled breaks away from electrical devices.

    If you spend a lot of time around your computer and your cell phone for school or work, take a 5-10 minute break every hour, leave your phone behind, and take a walk outside, in, or near nature – away from manmade EMFs.

    Additionally, once a day go for a long walk in a forest, park, preserve, botanical gardens, or an arboretum, putting your cell phone on airplane mode (or better yet, leaving it at home) to give your body a full break away from EMFs.

    This gives your mind and body a chance to rest and “reset” from the onslaught of DNA damage so your body can heal itself.

  5. Invest in EMF-Shielding Tools Such as the Harmoni Pendant
