What Doctors Give Their Loved Ones For Cancer...

Cancer impacts us all.

And I can tell you from personal experience, nothing hits harder than a cancer diagnosis.

Can you relate? How has cancer touched your life?

Here at Conquering Cancer, we receive questions every day such as…

  • How do I avoid cancer?
  • What if I have cancer and don’t know?
  • I have cancer – what do I do now?
  • Can I beat cancer?
  • What if it spreads?
  • What if my cancer comes back?
  • Will I be able to handle the side effects of cancer treatment? The pain?
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer, are in treatment, are considering your options, are in remission, or you want to prevent cancer…

There are a number of natural ways to support your efforts to become and stay healthy. But…

There is one particular way that more and more doctors are now recommending as a non-traditional treatment for cancer.

In this article, we are going to focus on nature’s most healing plant that has been used for 5,000+ years to treat disease…

And finally, science is catching up and proving that it affects cancer cells in a variety of positive ways…

It’s called ‘the sacred plant’ (a.k.a. medical cannabis and CBD).

Here are 7 direct ways this sacred plant directly impacts cancer…

1. Prevents Cancer Growth

There is growing evidence that both CBD and other compounds in medical cannabis may help prevent the growth of cancer.

Just one example is a 2014 report published by the International Society of Urology (SIU) that followed a group of over 84,000 men ages 45-69, over an eleven-year period.

They observed that the men who regularly used the sacred plant had a 45% reduction in bladder cancer occurrence, compared to both smokers and non-smokers that didn’t.

More and more experts are looking at cannabis for cancer prevention, largely because of research showing cannabis is a powerful anti-inflammatory, and that it kills cancer cells, stopping their proliferation (growth).

2. Lowers Inflammation

Currently, scientists believe that one of the main reasons cannabis may prevent cancer is due to its well-documented ability to reduce inflammation.

In part, the sacred plant lowers inflammation by reducing oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Both cannabis cannabinoids and terpenes have demonstrated powerful antioxidant properties.

As so often is the case, most benefits of cannabis come from the entourage effect — the combination and interaction of the hundreds of phytochemicals found in the whole plant and your endocannabinoid system.

3. Kills Cancer Cells & Stops The Spread

Cannabis and its components have been shown to not only stop cancer cells growing, but to kill them!

The National Cancer Institute (the federal government’s principal agency for cancer research and training) has a report about the many pre-clinical studies on cannabis and cancer.

In this report, the authors state,

“A meta-analysis of 34 in vitro and in vivo studies of cannabinoids in glioma reported that all but one study confirmed that cannabinoids selectively kill tumor cells.

There are many other studies that show that cannabis and its phytochemicals and compounds also kill other types of cancer cells. These include breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, bladder cancer and many more.

What is inside the plant that infiltrates cancer cells and “turns off” their growth signal and power?

Here are some ways these constituents of the plant stop cancer from spreading, shrink tumors and reduce cancer recurrence:

  • The terpenes limonene, pinene, trans-nerolidol, and humulene have demonstrated anti-cancerous abilities. This includes reducing tumor size and stopping the spread of cancerous cells.

  • THC interacts with cancer cells to cause apoptosis (natural cell death) and autophagy (natural cell decomposition) where cancer cells would otherwise continue to grow and spread further to other areas of the body.

  • CBD has been shown to be antiproliferative. This means that it causes cancer cells to be “sticky”, which stops them from being able to spread throughout the body.

While THC and CBD are indicated as the main cannabinoids responsible for many of the cancer killing abilities of cannabis, a newly discovered cannabinoid THCv and the acids THCa and CBDa also are beneficial.

In fact, the combination of these cannabinoids allows the THC and CBD to be even more effective within your body.

4. Makes Chemo MORE Effective

As more and more patients are starting to approach their doctors about CBD and medical cannabis…

Many are using it in combination with conventional treatment to handle side effects like nausea, pain and reduction in bowel control.

It even helps with children who are fighting cancer.

Olly, a 2-year-old cancer patient, had CT scans that turned the head of doctors at the state of the art disease research hospital, City of Hope in Southern California.

Olly’s story resonates with National Cancer Institute reports that state:

“CBD together with THC may enhance the anti-tumor activity of classic chemotherapeutic drugs.”

CBD, in particular, has been noted to increase the uptake of chemotherapy drugs into cells — meaning CBD makes chemo more effective.

Not only this, but CBD has demonstrated the ability to guide the toxic drugs used in chemotherapy into the right cells.

In this way, the chemo will only go into cancerous cells and bypass normal cells!

5. Provides Soothing Pain Relief

There’s no denying patient claims that “cancer sucks.”

It comes with pain that is exhausting and relentless in its signal.

Dr. David Bearman, a pain management specialist and a pioneer in medical cannabis treatment in Goleta, California… does not hesitate to voice his support for using cannabis, rather than toxic doses of addictive opioids to provide relief from the pain of cancer (or any chronic pain for that matter).

By reducing the cancer pain signal, the analgesic effects of cannabis can offer a major relief, allowing a better quality of day to day living.

And what about our mental, emotional health?

Reducing pain reduces levels of stress and depression, and thus aids healing.

Today, the most well known constituents of cancer pain are THC and myrcene.

However, Dr. Bearman claims they are just two of many components of cannabis contributing to relieving pain.

6. Significant Relief From Treatment Side Effects

One of the most beneficial ways CBD and medical cannabis helps with cancer is with symptom relief.

Most of these symptoms are a result of side-effects of conventional treatment such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation.

Many patents have found CBD, limonene, and linalool as helping to reduce stress, inflammation, and improve mood which has been beneficial to keep patients thriving in their daily lives, while being on often difficult treatment protocols.

Cannabis has been shown in preclinical and clinical trials to help with:

  • Neuropathy
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Pain
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Loss of appetite
  • Graft (transplant) rejection
  • Weakened immune system
  • Nutrient absorption
  • Bowel issues (constipation, diarrhea, etc)
  • Bone loss
  • Opioid and narcotics withdrawal
  • Insomnia

So let’s connect the dots.

If pioneer doctors, scientists and patients agree that cannabis — CBD, THC, the many other cannabinoids and terpenes – can help mitigate pain and suffering while being an aid in preventing bone deterioration and helping bolster our immune systems…

Then shouldn’t we start rethinking our medical and patient care priorities?

With intolerable side-effects reduced, patients are able to better tolerate potentially life-saving treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation, and increase their chances of remission.

7. Increases Treatment Tolerance

Many times the side effects patients experience with conventional cancer treatments make the treatments unbearable.

The burns from chemo and radiation, as well as the well-known nerve damage known as neuropathy, can lead doctors to lower doses to a point that is simply ineffective…

And lead patients to reluctantly give up on treatment that instead of saving their lives is giving them more ailments than relief.

But it’s been shown time and time again that using CBD in conjunction with an extremely toxic but effective chemotherapy drug, patients often experience little to NO neuropathy.

That means CBD allows these medicines to not only be MORE effective, but for doctors to continue giving the necessary life-saving doses.

The Bottom Line: Main Takeaways

The bottom line for the question “Can cannabis help with cancer?” is YES, it can.

Many in the Conquering Cancer community have taken the leap already.

I have personally spoken to and worked with hundreds of patients who have been helped with CBD and cannabis.

But I won’t give you false hope either.

Here’s what’s needed to further cement and solidify cannabis as a medicine for cancer…

We Need Clinical Evidence:

There is growing clinical evidence of cannabis helping with cancer, but it’s a slow go because the United States Gov’t STILL has cannabis classified as a Schedule 1 drug… which means it has no medical uses (even though it has a patent for its medical uses that it licenses to Big Pharma).

It’s Not a Cure All or One Size Fits All:

It’s not as simple as taking a tincture and get healed. It’s important to take the correct formulation, dosage and more for your condition. And even still, it’s not a guarantee. More research is needed.

Expert Guidance:

I recommend that you follow expert advice and guidance when using medical cannabis. It won’t harm you but to get the results you want and need, it’s good to follow best practices.
